What are the requirements for my church?

There are some simple requirements to meet. First, you must demonstrate that you are a non-profit, which means having an EIN registered as such or being affiliated with a parent organization that is a non-profit. Many churches achieve 501(c)(3) status through a group ruling from their national denomination.

If you lack your own 501(c)(3) status, you will need a group exemption letter from an officer of your national parent denomination, confirming your church’s status as a subordinate under their group ruling, and it should be on official letterhead.

Additionally, you will need a physical address and an official email. If your church meets in a rented space, that can serve as your physical address. It’s important to note that schools, hospitals, healthcare organizations, and government entities are not eligible, as they have separate programs with Google.
